One day, two more problems…

Well actually, not two but a huge amount of burdens…

Yu know when you fall asleep at night… and well, before you fall asleep, you remember to pray. So during your pre-sleep prayer, you ask God for protection (at least that’s what i ask for) while your body is dead for the hours between 1:00 AM and 6:00AM. And during your prayer, you thank God for His protection for one day that has just passed and that He will protect you during those short hours you are asleep and then that if He sees fit, He should wake you up in the morning so you can be an instrument for Him for just one more day.

Heh! And then you are not surprised that you ACTUALLY woke up the next day to fresh sunshine – well, currently it’s raining in the mornings around here. But the point is you actually wake up to a fresh environment. And most of us don’t kneel down to thank God for His protection during our retreat at night. The first thought that enters our mind is, I’ll have a wonderful day today. And then you check the time and realize that you’re late for work, school, whatever… and then that dark side of you suddenly pops up as you hurry here and there trying to sort out your day.

Wouldn’t it be great if we all had some daily plan of our lives… I don’t mean the school time tables or work schedules, but I mean the less important things in our lives – or maybe even the preliminaries, like brushing one’s teeth, taking a pee, shaving, combing those “steel wools”, picking one’s nose, etc. If all these were planned out to the minutest detail, maybe we would know exactly what to do and then well, we would live our lives in a more organized and stress free manner.

But hang on a second! What am I saying? Shhhh, I won’t admit it, but that’s the most stupidest thought I would be thinking today. Because you know what, I AM a Christian. And boy, do I have my problems! Oh man,  do I?!? But the great thing about being a Christian is that I AM NOT PERFECT! Man, I cherish that statement soooo much! I AM NOT PERFECT. That’s why I leave the minute details to God. He reminds me daily to put the ones I don’t have to worry about to Him – and then he equips me to worry about the ones that I am responsible for.

Oh it’s tiresome, I know (and I hope you do too). But in the end it will be worth it… I know this because I took some time off at 10:00AM to read His Word and it was all there – a glaring reminder for me not to worry. I thank God, because if it wasn’t for those glaring promises in His Word, well, I’d be a total wreck right now.

God bless you all!

If you think you can’t make it through today, why don’t you grab yourself a Bible and read the whole chapter of Isaiah 45. It’s refreshing and uplifting, believe me!
